This 40-hour certification course is designed to advance the knowledge and technical abilities of restoration technicians managing emergency mitigation claims. Spanning 14 modules (2.5 hours each), the course provides a structured, start-to-finish approach for handling water losses, sewer backflows, and contamination cases such as mold. From source identification to sustainable drying practices, students gain the insight and consistency needed to deliver exceptional outcomes and customer satisfaction.
Understand and apply the science of psychrometry, including vapor pressure and GPP
Identify water loss categories and classes to determine appropriate mitigation strategies
Use the psychrometric chart to monitor, adjust, and validate drying progress
Calculate drying equipment loads and balance electrical requirements
Select the right drying equipment based on the structure and material conditions
Manage drying of complex materials like hardwoods and hard-to-dry materials
Create and verify complete and compliant documentation for insurance files
Determine source and loss type, and apply strategies to maximize salvage opportunities
